I'm familiar with that one. But even ...Timmo... I'm familiar with that one. But even if I wasn't -- shit, man. We're sitting on one of the longest coastlines in the world. We've got a wind resource there that can't be beaten. We've got potential tidal and wave power like nobody else. We've got an absolutely vast, sundrenched desert in the centre of the country that could generate solar power out the wazoo. We've got potential hot-rock geothermal sources all over the place.

And that's BEFORE you start looking at the potential of Thorium reactors...

Basically, it's just piss-poor luck that we also happen to be sitting on an incredible quantity of shitty brown coal.Flintharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17456024642528783549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2485469691062620401.post-56336008847370118682011-06-02T04:57:37.322-07:002011-06-02T04:57:37.322-07:00Oooh, "Geographic tongue", I just found ...Oooh, "Geographic tongue", I just found out that's a thing I get, when I didn't even realise it WAS a thing...

On the carbon/CO2 thing, I just went this evening to a talk on the Zero Carbon Australia plan. It seems like a very well fleshed out, practical and possible plan for a CO2 free electricity sector (at this stage, with more to come). I've yet to read the full plan...
details can be found at http://beyondzeroemissions.orgTimmohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06712963308662425659noreply@blogger.com
