But it's nice to know the connection and the background and all. Welcome aboard!Flintharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17456024642528783549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2485469691062620401.post-57174914630736779822010-10-11T06:23:58.290-07:002010-10-11T06:23:58.290-07:00Sorry Dirk, I realised I'm commenting occasion...Sorry Dirk, I realised I'm commenting occasionally and you probably have absolutely no idea who I am - I'm a Brisbanite who got here a while ago via JB's blog. I've enjoyed a couple of your books in the past - Coasting and I think one other, and have particularly been interested in the gardening and cooking adventures here. I'm a keen gardener, but am restricted to suburban block scale.Timmohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06712963308662425659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2485469691062620401.post-33367729061835365462010-10-10T15:00:42.275-07:002010-10-10T15:00:42.275-07:00...ergh....ergh.Flintharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17456024642528783549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2485469691062620401.post-62765435351757470202010-10-10T03:58:42.670-07:002010-10-10T03:58:42.670-07:00Barnes, I know those transition states all too wel...Barnes, I know those transition states all too well. I have a recipe for sweet chilli sauce that I made a while back - basically vinegar + sugar + chillis. At cooking heat it all looks much the same, but the difference when cooling was between sweet chilli sauce and sweet chilli toffee.

Strangely, sweet chilli toffee doesn't work quite as well in stir fries...Timmohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06712963308662425659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2485469691062620401.post-15111476853651950502010-10-09T23:37:30.412-07:002010-10-09T23:37:30.412-07:00Indeed a simple recipe, we came across it in the H...Indeed a simple recipe, we came across it in the Horrible Science Book 'Chemical chaos' which help illustrate the principles of transition states - toffee vs fudge.Michael barneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08986102144813296339noreply@blogger.com
